About Us
As part of Mossley AODS, one of the most successful theatre company's in the UK, Next Generation Youth Theatre is our award-winning youth theatre which holds classes in all aspects of drama, dance and musical theatre. Students from ages 3+ are accepted and no experience is required. Activities include regular showcase performances in our studio theatre, theatre trips, and workshops by professional actors, dancers, choreographers and directors.
As well as preparing students for auditions, stage school or a career in the arts, our classes are an ideal way to improve social skills and build confidence and performance skills, either for career goals or simply for fun.
Our theatre group is one of the most successful in the UK and all our students will have the chance to perform both in our studio theatre at Woodend Mill and on our main stage at the George Lawton Hall in Mossley.
At Next Gen, we believe that drama classes are not only for those wanting to pursue a career, but also for those who just want to build confidence and be creative. Our drama classes offer children of all ages the opportunity to develop skills in acting for stage and screen, as well as developing creative skills such as improvisation and script development.

Everyone loves singing in the car and the shower but if you think you could be the next singing star then we offer lessons for people from beginner to advanced. Throughout the week we offer group singing as part of our Musical Theatre classes and also 1-to-1 lessons for those who want to develop their technique further. But singing isn't just for young people! We also offer an adult choir for adults of all abilities who just love to sing!

Our Musical Theatre classes are for those who want to become a triple threat! Whether your aim is to become the next West End star or you simply love musicals, this is the class for you! Classes are divided up to concentrate on acting, singing and dancing and allows members to build their confidence and learn to incorporate all aspects of theatre in one go.

Our custom-built studio facility allows the opportunity for members to not only learn about life on stage but also life backstage. We offer the chance for members to take part in technical theatre courses in Lighting, Sound, Set Design and Stage Management, which run throughout the year to specialise in certain aspects of technical theatre. These skill can then be put to use as part of our Next Gen and MAODS productions.
